Big Sky 55+ is working to pass CI-132, Montanans for Nonpartisan Courts, to ensure our Judiciary is protected from partisan attacks. 

 

We are proud to be a primary endorsing partner of Montanans for Nonpartisan Courts, supporting efforts to ensure that our courts remain places that follow the Constitution and the laws, not political party bosses. We want to protect Montana’s 90-year history of courts free from political party influence. 

 

On June 11, 2026, Montanans for Nonpartisan Courts celebrated gathering over 102,000 signatures from across Montana. This number far exceeded the 60,000 signatures required for qualification. Signatures were also gathered from over 10 percent of registered voters in at least 57 House districts (17 more districts than required).

A strong majority of Montanans want to keep political parties and special interests out of our judicial elections, and over 100,000 Montanans have now weighed in to say this right is important enough to take to the ballot and enshrine in our beloved constitution.
